No. 13 Majorca, Spain
Though Spanish royals have long been spending their summer holidays on the Balearic island of Majorca, and the island welcomes roughly 8 million visitors annually, 2011 is the first year that T+L readers anointed it a World’s Best Island in Europe. On the horizon: a new generation of locals who are opening vineyards and boutiques and renovating historic properties.
